Mrs. Valentina S. Tomas. Through her leadership the Nueva Vizcaya Alay Kapwa Multi-Purpose Cooperative was organized in June 28, 1975 as Alay Kapwa Organization by ten (10) teachers at the Solano North Elementary School through the leadership of Mrs. Valentina S. Tomas as the Founder and served as Treasurer and Mr. Nemesio J. Estabillo as the first president. The group pooled their meager financial resources amounting to a total of two thousand pesos (P2,000.00) from which they borrowed at minimal interest to re- structure their loans at the Rural Bank of Solano.
After seven years as an organization, membership increased to 524 with a total contributed share capital of P179,503.05. It was then registered with the Bureau of Cooperatives as Nueva Vizcaya Credit Cooperative in 1982. The first million asset was achieved on December 1986.
Having accumulated sufficient capital at that time, the Cooperative then started granting loans twice the member's share capital that attracted more people to join the Cooperative.
The Cooperative Development Authority confirmed the registration of the Credit Cooperative on April 11, 1991 . It was then converted into a Multi-Purpose Cooperative on April 28, 1993. The increase in membership with the accompanying increase in the needs of its members triggered the diversification and expansion in the operations of the Cooperative.
The Agri-Trading Store was the first business opened in 1992 in addition to the Credit Services in answer to the demand of the increasing farmer members of the cooperative. In the year 1993, the Palay and Corn Trading, now the Grains Center was established as trading center for the farmer members' produce. In the year 1995 the General Merchandise (Grocery) was opened at the Solano Public Market as source of the daily needs of the members and not long after, the cooperative set up the Appliance Traders in the year 1995. The Communication Center, a dealer of different communication devices and accessories, was opened last 1996 in consonance with the modernization of living standards nowadays.
With the invasion of Information Technology in the business world today, the Cooperative keeps abreast with the trends of the new millennium by continuously updating its Management Information & Communication Technology Section through computerization and adoption of state-of-the-art electronic systems in all its operations.
