The Research, Extension and Development Program of the cooperatives is created to provide services not only to its members but also to the whole community. It is believed that our cooperative must share its fruits to those individuals who belong to the lower economic stratum of our society. For the past years Nueva Vizcaya Alay-Kapwa MPCO extended support and provided services to our members in the form of livelihood trainings, health and sanitation programs, and environmental program, among others. This Cooperative also actively participated in the Clean and Green program of the Province, Tree planting, Feeding program, Vaccination Program and other activities. However, these activities and programs are fragmented because it depends upon on the availability of funds, time of staff and officers.
The creation of RED Unit, therefore will institutionalize the socio-economic and civic activities of the cooperative. During the 2002 Annual Planning Workshop, a group of staff and officers formally proposed the creation of this unit and subsequently approved by the Board of Directors whose main concern is poverty deviation, in line with the national economic agenda.
To plan and implement the socio-economic and civic activities and programs of the cooperative;
To establish and strengthen linkages the cooperative with other government and non-government agencies;
To conduct research and development activities that aim to improve the basic community services of the cooperative to its members; and
To plan and implement environmental programs of the Cooperative for sustainable development.
